Melissa and Steve have 2 young children.  Katie is 6 years old and goes to Primary School. Oliver is 3 years old and goes to Pre School 2 days per week. Melissa has just come home from hospital with her new baby girl. Steve is the Sales Director for a large international corporation and travels a lot with work so is unable to help Melissa as much as he would like

Steve called Oxley Home Care about 4 weeks prior to the new baby’s arrival and discussed the potential need for some home help for Melissa and the children over the first few weeks after the baby was born. Our Care Coordinator visited the family and discussed what services Melissa thought she might need. Oxley Home Care provided a Care Worker for 2 hours each morning to help Melissa get Katie and Oliver fed and dressed and transported to school. The Care Worker then assisted Melissa with the daily bed making, washing, ironing and cleaning of the home, grocery shopping and prepared the evening meal which gave Melissa time to spend with the new baby and play with Oliver when he wasn’t at Pre School.  We also provided a late afternoon service to help with dinner, bath and bedtime routines. Services were gradually scaled back as Melissa became more organized and confident with caring for the new baby. Melissa has retained a domestic service and laundry assistance on a weekly basis.  She also books occasional babysitting services so she can have some time for herself while Katie is at school.
