Sally is forty years old and has Down Syndrome. She lives in a semi independent living unit but does require daily support from her family. With the close support from her family she is able to work part time and she stays with her family on the weekend. She has a very supportive brother who helps daily with her activities but he has a new job and will be travelling a great deal with work. Sally’s father recently passed away and her mother’s health has declined in recent months.
Sally’s brother called Oxley Home Care and arranged for a Care Worker to help Sally get showered and dressed and then to escort Sally to her bus stop. Services were booked Monday to Friday. Sally’s brother now travels with reassurance knowing Sally is receiving her daily personal care support and is getting to work safely and on time. She looks upon the Care Workers as friends. Sally’s mother is concentrating on her own health issues and enjoys quality time with Sally and the family on the weekends.
